How does Majmaah work through a weighted score example?
The official page publishes a solved example: a GPA of 80, GAT of 70 and SAAT of 60 give (80×0.30=24) + (70×0.30=21) + (60×0.40=24), totalling 69. The calculator above applies the same steps and shows each component's share.
What is Majmaah's worked example for the equivalent score?
The published example: a GPA of 80 and GAT of 70 give (80×0.50=40) + (70×0.50=35), totalling 75. Note that the same applicant scores 69 on the weighted criterion and 75 on the equivalent one — the criterion alone moved the result by six points.
Which Majmaah departments use the weighted score?
The scientific departments — on the female applicants' page these include mathematics and biology at the College of Education in Al-Majmaah, mathematics, chemistry and computing at the College of Science and Humanities in Hawtat Sudair, and the preparatory year for the College of Applied Medical Sciences.
Do Majmaah's criteria differ by gender?
The weights do not: 30/30/40 for the weighted score and 50/50 for the equivalent one on both pages. What differs is the list of departments under each criterion, so check the page for your own gender to confirm your department.
Why does Majmaah's criteria page carry an old publication date?
The two pages were published in 2012 and 2013 and their dates were never refreshed, yet they remain the official pages presented by the Deanship of Admission and Registration. We publish what they state and add this caveat rather than silently assuming an update.
What score do Majmaah's internal scholarships require?
The university requires a weighted or equivalent score of at least 80% for internal scholarships, except for the College of Engineering and the College of Computer and Information Sciences, which require a weighted score of at least 90%.
My department is literary — does the SAAT help me at Majmaah?
It does not enter your criterion, because literary departments are assessed on the equivalent score (50% GPA + 50% GAT) with no SAAT. But if you are applying to other universities, some count the SAAT even on theoretical tracks.
